What is Victorian Style?

Victorian style originated during the reign of Queen Victoria in England from 1837 to 1901 and is marked by the use of rich jewel tone palettes, darker woods, and sumptuous textiles and wall coverings. Ornate interior and exterior architectural details, ranging from carved moldings and wood paneling to wraparound porches and bay windows, were also common in Victorian-style homes.
