King\u2019s College London\u00a0is very pleased to announce the establishment of this new\u00a0award, as part of the King\u2019s Scholars schemes for 2016 entry.<\/p>\n<p>King\u2019s College London is dedicated to the advancement of knowledge, learning and understanding in the service of society. We look for students who are pursuing higher learning so that they can play a part in making the world a better place.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Offered Since:\u00a0<\/strong>2020<\/p>\n<p><strong>Type:<\/strong>\u00a0Undergraduate<\/p><script data-noptimize=\"\" data-wpfc-render=\"false\">\nfpm_start( \"true\" );\n<\/script>\n\n<p><strong>Eligibility:\u00a0<\/strong>All undergraduate students starting at King\u2019s in 2017,\u00a0who do not already have a previous degree from a UK, EU or international institution,\u00a0are eligible to apply, though the following selection criteria will be applied to each applicant:<\/p>\n<p>In order to be eligible* to apply for the Desmond Tutu Scholarship, students must:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>must be undertaking a first degree;<\/li>\n<li>not\u00a0hold a first degree from a UK, EU or other international institution;<\/li>\n<li>not be NHS-funded in their first year of study;<\/li>\n<li>will only be considered if you\u00a0are subsequently confirmed as holding an offer from King\u2019s;<\/li>\n<li>submit an essay, not to exceed 1,000 words, titled: \u201cHow do you think an education at King\u2019s College London would help you to serve \u00a0society once you graduate?\u201d<\/li>\n<li>submit a copy of your curriculum vitae (CV) which demonstrates existing work in service to society.<\/li>\n<li>Please note that being eligible does not mean an automatic entitlement to a scholarship, as final selection\u00a0by committee is based upon your essay and CV submission<em>.<\/em>\n<p><strong>Essay Evaluation:\u00a0<\/strong>The word limit is 1,000 words.
